Tame Impala Close Out Tour at CDMX's Corona Capital

Ending their tour on the highest of notes, getting to witness Tame Impala at Mexico City’s Corona Capital was a memory we’ll hold on to for the rest of our dear lives. Playing a career spanning setlist that featured rarities like “Endors Toi” and Lonerism B-Side “Beverly Laurel”, there wasn’t a single solitary second that wasn’t enjoyable about this festival set. If you were there, you know exactly what we’re talking about.

Wrapping up their North American tour and ultimately going out with a bang, we’re not sure that we’ve seen a crowd hyped up to see Tame Impala like this in all our days. We’ve been beyond lucky enough to get to witness the greatness plenty of times now, but after getting to speak with festival goers around the venue, they seemed to be the most talked about act due to not having seen them live yet. For so many though, that fact has changed, and it appeared that every individual had the time of their lives.

Although if you’ve seen Tame before, you know it’s basically impossible to stand there and not be unbelievably impressed by the endless sights and sounds. Bringing the UFO with them and watching that is one thing, but the consistent energy coming from the touring members is what makes these shows continue to be so special. With the help of Julien Barbagallo, Jay Watson, Cameron Avery, Dominic Simper, and of course Kevin Parker, these shows go from a 10 to an 11 easily.

With The Slow Rush B-Sides getting prepared for an early 2022 release and some more festival dates being announced for next year and summer, we’re personally hoping to see some slight setlist changes. However it’s become apparent that it doesn’t really matter what you put in the setlist, because it’s all going to be amazing. There are some staples like “Elephant”, “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards”, and “Apocalypse Dreams” that will most likely never be taken out, but it’s so nice to see those deep cuts make their way in.

All that being said though, Tame Impala’s tour closer at Corona Capital was a total dream come true and an absolute privilege to be front and center watching it all go down. Make sure that if they come to a city near you, you get the best spot available, and have the time of your life.
