Feel the Heat: Buldak Brings the Fire to Coachella 2025
There’s no shortage of flavor-packed experiences at Coachella, but this year one pop-up turned up the heat — literally. Buldak, the beloved brand behind Korea’s cult-favorite spicy ramen and viral hot sauces, made their fiery debut as the Official Hot Sauce Partner of the festival, and it quickly became one of the most talked-about activations on the grounds.
Located just across from Coachella’s Indio Central Market, the Buldak Pop-Up was impossible to miss, with its bold signage, neon flames, and streams of curious (and spice-loving) festivalgoers lining up to test their heat tolerance. Equal parts immersive experience and spice gauntlet, the pop-up tapped perfectly into the festival’s playful, interactive vibe — and yes, it was made for social media.
The standout attraction? Buldak Duets, an interactive challenge where brave souls selected their weapon of choice — Carbonara, Original, or the infamous 2X Spicy Buldak Hot Sauce — before facing off in a virtual heat showdown with none other than Coachella performer GloRilla. As each participant took their shot, GloRilla appeared on screen, daring them to hold a straight face for ten agonizing seconds. Few succeeded, many laughed (or cried), and everyone walked away with a hilarious personalized video to share with friends — and evidence of their spicy bravado.
If that wasn’t enough adrenaline, the Buldak Launch experience added a visceral twist. Fans climbed into special green screen lift seats rigged with smoke, wind, and other effects, then selected their spice level, with the lift intensity increasing to match their heat tolerance. It was part amusement park ride, part Instagram stunt, and part personal reckoning with spice gods — an absolute festival highlight that had onlookers cheering.
And because no spice fest is complete without a sweet cooldown, the Dessert Bar offered inventive pairings like Buldak sauce-drizzled ice cream and frozen fruit with a spicy kick. It was proof that Buldak’s heat doesn’t just belong in ramen bowls — it pairs surprisingly well with dessert.
Beyond the main activation, Buldak’s presence stretched across the festival grounds with five additional sauce sampling stations handing out to-go sticks of their Carbonara and Original hot sauces. Festivalgoers gleefully slathered them on everything from tacos to fries to late-night pizza, and the brand’s signature ramen packs were also available for purchase at the General Store for anyone hoping to recreate the burn back at camp.
Coachella has always been about the unexpected — not just world-class music, but food, drink, art, and those unforgettable little moments you didn’t see coming. In 2025, Buldak captured that spirit perfectly, delivering one of the weekend’s most flavorful and fun activations. Consider this a high-five to anyone who conquered the 2X Spicy sauce and lived to tell the tale.
