Parquet Courts Blow the Roof Off of The Wiltern in Los Angeles

Playing a career spanning set that basically blew the roof off of The Wiltern in Los Angeles, Parquet Courts and their live show continue to solidify why they’re one of the premier punk bands in today’s scene. Luckily for all the readers we were there to witness it first hand. Please check out our complete review and full photo gallery below.

We’ve been longtime fans of the band and have had the opportunities to see them on tour through multiple album cycles at this point. For those that haven’t had the pleasure, Parquet Courts jam packs as much energy as possible into a nearly two hour set that’ll have your heart pounding out of your chest. As they’re still on the heels of 2021’s Sympathy for Life, that’s what’s been taking a hold of the majority of the set list. However, they still play to the fan’s delight some of their more “mainstream” hits off of Human Performance and Wide Awake!

While we could probably point out 100 different things that we enjoy the most about their shows, an underrated aspect is their ability to craft a set list that comes in waves of energy. What we mean by that is while the crowd certainly could mosh and bump around to any of their tracks, they delicately place songs to continuously build and build until an eventual explosion at the end. Fans have been so lucky to see the resurgence of “Stoned and Starving” on this tour, especially the extra jammy 10 minute version that they’ve treated us all too.

At the time of writing this, we’re sore, slightly hungover, and feeling the pain of being right in the middle of the pit. That could sound like a complaint, but ultimately they’re the battle wounds of a night extremely well spent. Considering they brought on Automatic to open the show and set the tone, it was a three hour night of adrenaline and our favorite music blaring at probably unsafe volume levels. If that sounds appealing, which we can’t imagine it wouldn’t, let that be the reason to catch Parquet Courts on the rest of their 2022 tour, wherever they may be headed.

Lastly, we’ve included all the most important links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay up to date with the band.
