Leah Kate Maximizes Her Sound at SLC's Kilby Court
Right off the bat, Leah Kate brought an immense amount of energy to the small stage of Kilby Court. She basically owned the venue as she danced, jumped, and sang with the crowd enough to say that performing at Kilby Court was basically a workout because of the amount of times she would be stepping onto the platform or boxes on the stage.
For those who don't know about Kilby Court, it is a small venue in Salt Lake City, Utah made from an old garage. On average, the venue can hold around 150-200 people. Leah Kate had an audience of around 40 people. Originally, the concert was supposed to be at a different venue with a larger capacity, but it seems like sales did not go as planned, resulting in a change of location.
She kept the energy alive to feel like there were more people than there actually were, which is a very difficult task. There were a couple noticeable audience members who seemed uninterested or uncomfortable with her dancing that evidently got into the audience's faces.
There is no doubt that Leah Kate has some incredible vocals that match the topics of her music. Her setlist was comprised of songs that resulted from bad dating experiences, where she may be called "bitchy" or "petty". This concert could accurately be described as a therapy session for the audience.
Truly, it was an exceptional performance from an artist who’s clearly on the rise. Do yourselves a massive favor and check out our extensive photo gallery below to get a glimpse into a wonderful night. Also, if she’s headed to a city near you, don’t hesitate to grab a ticket ASAP!
