BANKS Puts On A Mesmerizing Performance at Hollywood Palladium
The Hollywood Palladium was alive and in its feels last night as BANKS performed her hometown show in Los Angeles, CA. Starting the show with opening track "Misunderstood" off of her new album, Serpentina, BANKS immediately set the tone for her performance begging us all to let her be misunderstood. A simple request that had everyone leaning into whatever was up next.
Playing several of her older hits from Goddess, Altar, and III, songs like "Brain," "Gemini Feed," and "Gimme" were huge crowd favorites as they sang along to every word. However, her 4th album truly shined last night as she lured the audience into a seductive trance with hits like "The Devil," "Skinnydipped," and "Fuck Love." She and her 4 dancers, of course adorned in all black mesh and lace, slithered across the stage with their provocative choreography and poses.
There's a rawness about BANKS, a quiet confidence about the way she moves and just something about her voice that emits real emotion; you can almost feel what she felt when she wrote the lyrics to some of her songs. As a fan of her's since her Goddess days and always seeming to miss her shows until now, it was everything I hoped it would be; only wish was that it was longer and her full discography. Needless to say, I was definitely one of the ones in my feels last night.
With all that being said, as BANKS is currently on tour, we can’t recommend enough that if she comes to a city near you, you grab a ticket immediately. We’ve included the most important links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay up to date with all major news.
