WRTR drops a nostalgia inducing Pop EP, "Mirage"

Capitalizing off a huge 2021, WRTR is back once again with an incredibly captivating new EP titled Mirage. We’re loving it! Please read on for our full review of the record, as well as a background on this immensely talented artist.

Originally from a small village in Finland, this producer and songwriter known as WRTR is creating a niche sound in Pop music that we’ve quickly come to enjoy. Somewhere between a mix of The Weeknd and Alan Walker, this multi-dimensional artist has created one of the more instantly catchy records we’ve heard in quite some time. Without a doubt, we highly recommend everyone listen to Mirage.

Jam packed with soaring synthesizers, succinct drumming patterns, and of course WRTR’s flawless vocals, it was legitimately impossible to find anything here to critique or want to change. At just 23 years of age, not only are his groove-filled songs super danceable, but the lyrical content goes deep as well. He’s covering delicate themes and “analyzing human feelings in their deepest truths”

At just 4 songs in total length, we 100% suggest you check out the full EP considering it’s only about 12 minutes. However, his track “I Am Me” has undoubtedly been stuck in all of our heads since the moment we heard it. Truly, it’s one of the most nostalgic inducing songs we’ve heard, but plays so well with modern Pop influences too. You get that feeling of the 80’s at the forefront, but from a production standpoint, he’s making music that embodies the future and where we think this genre is headed.

Infinitely positive things could be said about Mirage as a whole, but really it’s implored us to check out the rest of what he’s got. We know we’ll definitely be doing a comparison listen to hear the changes from 2021 to 2022, but ultimately will be looking towards the bright future he’s created for himself with this killer EP. It can’t be overstated, but everyone really needs to check this out.
