William Cline Bailey excels on his 3rd full length album, "Euphoria"
Staying incredibly consistent within his releases, William Cline Bailey has just served up his 3rd full length studio album, Euphoria. It is spectacular! Keep reading for an in-depth look into the specifics of the record, as well as a background on this artist.
Featuring an endless amount of grooves, William Cline Bailey’s 3rd album Euphoria is a masterclass in modern day Jazz fusion. From beginning to end, it’s literally euphoric in the name, but delivers uplifting and positive emotions through its expressive instrumentals. With help from Adam Carpenter (keyboards), Rohan Oliver (bass), Pete Norman (guitar) and Cecil Jones (saxophone), all collaborators put 100% effort in and the final result is nothing short of perfection.
From the opener “Sanctify” and on, the listener is hit nonstop with a chain of melodic passages that encapsulate the listener in something truly unique. At some points in our listens, it actually felt hypnotic to the degree where you sort of get lost in the music. You’ll find yourself strumming along to an air guitar or really just attempting to anticipate what might happen next. Instrumental albums as a whole for us typically need to try harder due to the lack of lyricism, but we can confidently claim that William and company have gone above and beyond in crafting something that doesn’t need novelty or gimmicks to shift your focus. As a drummer and songwriter, William has been at this long enough and had more than enough life experience in his endeavors that none of these compliments should be too surprising.
At 8 total tracks that run right nearly 30 minutes in length, Euphoria feels like this versatile and bite size listen that could be popped on at a moment’s notice. Really, there’s so much usage for this type of music where you could listen to it while driving on the highway, playing at the beach, or even at a relaxing house party. Surely it would grab someone’s attention, we know it would for us. Once you’re finished with this listen though, we’re also urging everyone to check out WIlliam’s back catalog, mainly because there’s plenty more gems that are left to be uncovered.
