Taking influence from both grunge and 70’s era folk music, Walker Tex has shared a lovely acoustic track titled “Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)”. Showcasing his introspective lyrics, calm demeanor, and ultimately smooth vocals, the artist has built an instant classic of a single. Exploring soundscapes and atmospheric backgrounds, we can confidently state that this track is a winner.

Amassing a following over the last year, Walker Tex has placed himself all over the map in terms of creativity, concepts, and complexity. Transitioning his music towards more originals and straying from the covers, we’re incredibly excited to see what else comes from the artist in the coming months. We have a feeling that 2021 is going to be the best year yet for this genre-bending artist.

On this newest single, the artist manages to almost instantly create an entirety of a world using just an acoustic guitar and his shimmery vocals. It will become quick to notice, but this particular track relies heavily on imagery-filled lyricism that delicately paints a picture of his life experiences and hopes. We are always massive fans of a more stripped back style that doesn’t rely on gimmicks to bring a new listener in. Truly, all you really need are vocals like these and a guitar to attract more fans.

As the artist’s discography continues to grow and grow, especially with more originals on the way, bits and bits of talent are emerging themselves after each subsequent release. We had no choice but to go back and listen to what’s been released over the last year, and take our word for it, it’s all high quality.

Our obvious recommendation here is for you to dig into his newest single, but to also explore a bit and get to know the artist. Starting from the beginning and hearing the evolution of his sound should be a fun journey. Leading all the way up to “Make Me Smile” will show you just how much he’s grown in just a year’s time.

With all that being said, we’re beyond impressed with this output. The next step here is to do yourselves a massive favor and check out the links below to listen and follow along with his future releases. Enjoy!
