Visual Eyes share their rocking new single, "The Zoo"
Review by Austin Sher
Based out of Los Angeles, Visual Eyes are back with an absolute shredder of a single, titled “The Zoo”. Read along with us as we deliver our review on the track, as well as a bit of background on the band and where they’re headed.
Following up their fantastic 2019 full length album, Vibrations, Visual Eyes have delivered yet another rock-filled anthemic track, titled “The Zoo”. We absolutely love what we heard and are thrilled to have had the pleasure of discovering this band, because we honestly feel that they could make waves in the industry real soon.
While I can gladly speak on what we thought of the song, there’s no better group to hear how it came along, except the band themselves. “We wrote this song in a time of frustration. The world is being destroyed at a rapid rate to supply us with the products we purchase. Corporate greed turns a head to the destruction of our planet and it trickles down to every aspect of life. We felt that now is the time to act before it's too late. The power lies with the people! We can change the world in a second with a switch of a mindset. Do I wait till there's no turning back from the destruction, or do I act now and stand up? --The change made, it starts with you! It's the only way to close THE ZOO!"
We couldn’t possibly agree more! The world is at odds, and one of the only comforts we can safely enjoy from our homes, are the releases of new tracks by bands that just plain get it. The lyrics of the song speak so true to our everyday lives and struggles, and it’s even more of a plus that the instrumentals happen to be ridiculously good. The tones of the guitars are heavy yet refined, the vocals are powerful and clear, and the song is anthemic. The moment concerts are permitted again, you know we’ll be on the rail rocking out, singing it all word for word.
Speaking of concerts, the band let us know that before Covid-19 confined us all, Visual Eyes was performing at Wisdom LA with the first ever custom live 360º dome show. The live performance of Visual Eyes combined with the artwork made by Gen Love Ear Art (who designed the cover art,) along with a number of the top 3D visual artists (UON Visuals, Burt Vera Cruz, Hypnagogist, and more) projected onto a 360º projection mapped dome, created a growing vibe in Downtown LA that is still being talked about heavily. Visual Eyes is excited to get back to the shows in the future, but until then stayed tuned for more releases.
Being a native of Los Angeles, the first thing I’ll be doing the moment the world opens back up, is attending one of those shows because it just sounds too good to miss!
