Global artists come together to create stunning song & video for "Ordinary People"
Review by Austin Sher
Released earlier last month on November 3rd, 2020, a group of artists (Whiteheads, Awa Fall, Marko Tolja, & Ermanno Fabbri) put together a stunning single, “Ordinary People”. It is fantastic! Please read our full thoughts on the track, as well as a background on how it came about.
“Ordinary People” is an incredible collaboration between artists who have come together to create something truly beautiful. The message behind the song was that it was written and composed to “wake up ordinary people all around the globe to get the world running in a better direction for everyone”. Created by Italian, Senegalese and Croatian artists, the song has already made it to many countries, including America, Canada, Finland, Qatar, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Switzerland, UK and Pakistan.
In addition to the song, the artists have put together a lovely music video which we’ve linked at the bottom of the article. Before you get watching, we’d highly recommend you listen as this collaboration is something you should put on the top of your priority list. Talented artists from across the world, who are all experiencing much of the same thing, pooled their talents to create an almost “We Are The World” type of song.
Right from the beginning, a mix of female and male vocals come soaring through your headphones to create harmony in a rocky world. A range of instruments played by all take their turns showing off, but the best part for us was just how equally each artist got to show off what they were best at. Mixing guitars, artists getting a verse to deliver hard hitting lyrics, truly it was a beautiful 4 minute track that we highly recommend listening to.
As we mentioned, there is also a music video that was created for “Ordinary People”. The video was filmed in Milan, Italy and Rijeka, Croatia. It was directed by the Russian director Artem Dushkin and the editing was done in Edinburgh, Scotland. An internationally created song needed to be created for the video as well to really get the full effect. We suggest you watch as it was a great representation of the lyrics heard.
