Tyback release their soulful debut album, "Journey of Emotions"
Fresh off the release of his debut album titled Journey of Emotions, Tyback has presented his feelings through song on something truly magnificent. Please read on for an in-depth look into the record, as well as a background on the artist.
From the musical mind of Larry Backstrom and Tyree Young comes an innovative debut album they’ve called Journey of Emotions under the name, Tyback. Taking inspiration from some of the greats like James Taylor and Elton John, they’ve managed to pull those influences and create something fully original of their own. Mending genres from all over the musical spectrum, this is hands down the full “album experience” from beginning to end. We’re highly recommending everyone out there give it a spin.
Led by Larry’s dynamic vocal range and a series of massive instrumental performances from Tyree, the two have combined their equal talents for something special here. Coming in at 15 total tracks, spanning right around 54 minutes, the listener should prepare themselves for a fairly even mix of upbeat, melancholy, and ultimately thoughtful tracks. As instrumentally impressive each song can be, the highlights of this record really fall on the masterful lyricism and imagery-filled moments that paint a picture. You’re hearing depictions of Larry’s love life, being on the road, and other various tales. The passion that comes through in each song is unprecedented, but mainly the sincerity in which the artist is reliving the moments.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our listen from start to finish, we did have some individual favorites such as “Awe of the World”, “I’m Telling You”, and the closer “How You Feel”. Of course each song had its moment, and we recommend you give this a cohesive listen, but you’re always going to find the few that stand out the most.
