The Huneez set the right tone on their debut single, "Morning Blue"

Released today on October 2nd, 2020, The Huneez have officially shared their debut single, “Morning Blue”. Join us as we break down our thoughts on the track, in addition to some background and insight into the band.
Currently based out of Wollongong, Australia, indie pop trio The Huneez are a small band with a big sound, combining soulful melodies, funky rhythms, and some pleasantly piquant grooves into a variety of original tracks.
Before the release of the track, the band gave us a heads up as to what the song was about. According to The Huneez, “Every now and then we find ourselves suppressing feelings and trying to move on. That's the spirit of Morning Blue - the internal struggle of trying to ignore those feelings for someone, knowing it’s a bad idea and fighting that desire to pursue those feelings. I think it's a place everyone's been to before, whether it be feelings of love, fear, anger, frustration...it's all a part of being human and accepting what we know is best for us, but sometimes it's not that simple.”
Now that we’ve both familiarized ourselves with the band and their thoughts on the single, it’s time for ours! First off, what an insanely catchy and upbeat jam. Seriously, from the opening keyboard intro we were instantly sold on what The Huneez brought to the table. While the opening was more about the instrumentation, the moment the strong female vocal lead came in, it truly took the song to a whole different level.
As lovers of all things indie music, “Morning Blue” sets the tone for a future sound of the band. In a perfect world, we’d love an entire album full of songs just like these. They keep it fresh, funky, and the audience is continually guessing as to what’s going to happen next.
While The Huneez are clearly in the beginning of their music career, let it be known that we’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on all future releases. Their sound was too good not to keep up with what might be in the works. We don’t what it is about bands coming out of Australia these days, but a large majority of them have been impressive, including The Huneez.
