WWAM: Hello Terry Golden, how’s it all been going?

Terry Golden: I'm fine and thank you so much for having me. Summer is approaching, so already busy.

WWAM: Can you give us a look into your upcoming projects for the months ahead? What can fans expect from Terry Golden?

Terry Golden: I work on several fronts. On the one hand, I have several collab projects and new music that will be released over the summer and autumn. On the live shows side, I have focused hard on getting to the USA, the Middle East and South America, as the Melodic Techno scene is growing here. Fortunately, it seems to have worked out, as I have been confirmed for several jobs in California for September, ongoing jobs in the Middle East and my first mini tour in Argentina for January 2025. I am very much looking forward to that, as many fans have wanted to get some Terry Golden magic in these parts of the world.

WWAM: Would you say that your signature style has taken a different direction this year? Have you been working to integrate any new styles or sounds into your new productions?

Terry Golden: I wouldn't say that my sound as such has changed, but generally become more Melodic Techno in sound. Satisfied with it, I have experimented with a deeper House-like sound, but is very suitable for the many sunset live sets. ‘Heartache’ is the first one I've released, it came out on Iconyc on March 24th. I love both sides of my sound, and they fit in perfectly with the bookings coming in now.

WWAM: As you keep evolving as a Producer and DJ, continuing to light up stages with your unique style, how would you say your musical experiences influence your approach towards music production and overall process?
Terry Golden: I am happy that my sound and style are seen as something unique, since that is actually what most people are looking for. I definitely have some artists that I am inspired by, but the difference now is that it has become much broader, and I listen less to what others do, and try, to a greater extent than before, to create my own. Having said that, the Melodic scene has changed a lot and there is now room for using much more vocals, which I really like. It creates a different energy and means that people who might not listen to Techno can suddenly find an anchor that draws their interest. The vocals are definitely a big part of that.

WWAM: Can you share with us what listeners should prepare themselves for next when it comes to episodes of your radio show, ‘Art Of Rave’?

Terry Golden: My radio show has evolved quite a bit, but as the name suggests, it is not locked into the same style that I play myself. In general, listeners will find a show that focuses on underground music, but is not afraid to show some commercial elements as well. Art of Rave is their weekly rush of delicious, sometimes hard-hitting beats, and delicious melodic passages that you can recharge your batteries with.

WWAM: Can you tell us about any goals or projects aside from music that you’re hoping to accomplish this year?

Terry Golden: I hope that 2024 will finally be the year when, on the one hand, I get my team complete with management, and one or more agents who can book jobs for me worldwide. But also, the year in which I enter into some partnerships, which may make sense, but also cause some income, in addition to the music.

WWAM: How do you hope to develop your craft this year?

Terry Golden: I would like to add some more unique things to my live show, such as a sequencer, so that you can add something even more unique to the live part, which will always be different.

WWAM: Have you been drawing inspiration and influence from any new styles, genres, or Artists recently?

Terry Golden: I find the mixture of Afro House and Melodic Techno exciting, and it gives the cool sunset sound that is in demand in many places. Here, I would think that Keinemusik is one of the best ones, in my book anyway.

WWAM: Tell us about how you are preparing for your performances this year; are there any shows scheduled that you are particularly nervous or excited about?

Terry Golden: I'm looking forward to every show, but it's clear that every time you're in a new country for the first time, it tickles your stomach. However, my preparation is always the same, where I examine the sound that hits on the spot, and based on that I put together my sets based on what I feel - there is also always a plan B, if I should be wrong about it. However, I would say that it is now very rare that it happens. I'm especially excited right now to be on the main stage at Beats on the Beach in LA on September 14th, it's going to be huge!

WWAM: What do you hope listeners will take away from your music and projects in 2024?

Terry Golden: I hope that listeners, regardless of whether it's live or via a platform, get caught up in the sound, which makes them want to listen again. If that happens, my mission is complete.
