SWTLDS strike gold once again on new single, "Got A Light?"
Back at it again with a spectacular third single in their rapidly growing discography, SWTLDS have excelled big time on “Got A Light?”. Please read on for our glowing review of the track, as well as an update on the band.
For this Los Angeles-based indie rock duo called SWTLDS, each of their three singles released thus far have been a growing peak into their musical capabilities. With a debut EP set for release sometime later this year, “Got A Light?” is the next preview into the full record. Go ahead and take our word for it before you listen, but the song is everything we could’ve hoped for and more. If this is your introduction to the band, keep a close eye, because plenty more is on the way.
Pronounced “sweet lads”, the duo is made up of TIm and Chev who instantly connected over their love for music and creation. Fast forward all this time and the two are well on their way to a successful record that has already proven so with the release of the first three tracks. Speaking directly on “Got A Light?” though, it shows quickly the complexities in both the vocals and varied instrumentation that makes the band’s sound so special. While it’s certainly rock at the forefront, there’s so many subgenres that come through to vary from what we’ve heard in the past. We loved “Take Me Home”, but this goes one step further and diversifies a niche they’ve already established.
The greatest part about hearing these songs roll out one by one is the puzzle that is slowly forming to get the full read on the EP. The recommendation here is to obviously listen to all three, but to break down the connections, similarities, and variances in which the three have. We almost get a pop punk vibe from this new one, but that could definitely shift as more singles get released closer to the big day. Regardless, it’s something we’re looking forward to, and the wild ride getting there has been a blast.
