Steph Devine crafts an intimate new single, "You & Me"
Continuing her roll of her quickly catchy songs in 2021, Steph Devine has done it once again on a feel good track titled “You & Me”. We are loving it! Read on for our glowing review of the single, as well as a much needed background on this emerging artist.
Currently based out of Connecticut, Steph Devine is a self taught singer and songwriter that is turning more heads with each subsequent release. Building up her discography quite a bit over the past year, she continues to impress with her varied instrumental songs that center around her silky smooth vocals. Her latest “You & Me” is no different and we sincerely can’t wait for everyone to give this one a listen.
Just released on October 29th, 2021, this newest single is a stripped back ukulele focused song that highlights the true vocal range of Steph Devine. This being her 5th official song thus far, we went back to compare what she’s put out and can confidently claim that she continues to get better in every facet of the artistry on each release. Everything’s a lot tighter, the songwriting and visualization is improving, and the constant of it all being her voice is the shining light in all of it. With an EP gearing up for release, we’re beyond thrilled to see how the final product turns out.
At just a tad over three minutes in length, Steph gets right to the point in the story she’s telling but instantly lures old and new listeners in with her vocals. Considering that the instrumentals here are fairly refined, the voice is very purposely turned up in the mix, and we wholeheartedly give a round of applause for that stylistic choice. The song becomes a lot more intimate, focused, and really puts an emphasis on her message that’s being communicated. All in all, there’s legitimately no complaints or critiques we could point out here, it’s divine, pun intended.
