Shannon Clark & the Sugar release beauty on "Wait Till Spring"

Freshly released on March 19th, 2021, Shannon Clark & the Sugar are back and impressive as ever on their newest track, “Wait Till Spring”. We are head over heels in love with it! Read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a background on this talented band.

Set for release on May 14th, 2021, Shannon Clark & the Sugar are all set to release their full length record, Marks on the Wall. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, U2), this husband, wife, and daughter team are performing their original music based around personal loss, struggles, and the human condition. “Wait Till Spring” is another example of pure beauty coming from the group.

Says Shannon Clark on the single, “We all wait for different reasons: we wait for seasons, we wait for lovers , we wait for death. ‘Wait till Spring’” is a song about finding yourself and waiting for someone that’s not coming and coping with that. I wrote this for my Grandfather as he was lost when his wife of 65 years passed on.“

After Shannon and Brittany Clark brought their oldest daughter Navie into the band around 2019 as a vocalist and instrumentalist, they began experimenting on their sound and thus Shannon Clark & the Sugar were born. In a typically unlikely band arrangement, it works so unbelievably well and we are truly honored to even be writing about a band that sounds this great.

On “Wait Till Spring” specifically, the group have come together to create an emotional, instrumentally profound, and heartfelt track that will move you in a matter of five minutes. Complete with a full sound and layered vocals, there really wasn’t a second of the single that was dull or boring. We were captivated from the first note and have made it a point to not only follow along with their journey, but to support along the way.

As the album Marks on the Wall gets set for release this May, we’ll for sure have both “Wait Till Spring” and “Let It Ride” on repeat until then. Additionally though and as live events begin to get scheduled for the latter half of the year, it’s our new hope to see this be played in an intimate venue.

If it feels like we might be overhyping, we can assure you that we’re not. It’s just that it’s not everyday a sound that we resonate comes roaring in like this. With all being said though, it should come as no surprise that this is a song and band we’re recommending you give a listen to. Do yourselves a favor and listen by clicking the link below.
