Sea & Sky share captivating single and music video for "If It's Me"

Officially released this past week on October 9th, 2020, Sea & Sky have debuted their second single of 2020, titled “If It’s Me”. Do yourselves a favor and read along with us for a full review of the track, in addition to a background on the duo behind this project.
Wife & husband, mom & dad, teacher & nurse, these are the two lovely people that make up Sea & Sky. When they’re not getting the kids to bed on time, the duo are jumping into their home studio where they make emotionally charismatic pop music for others to enjoy. They’ve been making music together since high school, and have been fortunate enough to continue doing so throughout their lives.
This newest single, "If It's Me", was written about relational turbulence and the tensions arising from miscommunication between partners. This song extrapolates widely from their own relationship, though others have shared it hits center mass for their own struggles. We’ve been there, in any normal relationship there’s always going to be ups and downs, so we think it’s brave of the artists to put it out for the world to hear.
Our first impressions of “If It’s Me” were immediately how impressive the overall production sounded. Seriously, considering this was created out of a home studio, it turned out incredibly well in terms of balance and the overall mix. In addition to the crystal clear sounds, both Dan and Shel get their own moments throughout the four minute track to showcase their vocals. What are the odds that they both sound impeccable, it’s a match made in heaven.
Throughout the run time, the song slowly builds and swirls with catchy pop melodies, diverse instrumentation, and hooks that are guaranteed to be playing in your head for at least an hour after first listening. To be fully honest, as we’re writing this up, we’re humming the tune along, it’s just that catchy. Sea & Sky have proved with this single that you don’t need overly expensive gear to create greatness, it just takes a DIY home studio and an immense of talent from two wonderful partners.
