Sarah Orloff goes solo & delivers breathtaking debut, "Take Me Away"
Coming out incredibly strong on a debut single she’s titled “Take Me Away”, Sarah Orloff has powerfully showed off her individual strengths masterfully. Please read on for our glowing review of the track, as well as a background on the artist.
You might know her best from being the other half of Opium Ink, however Sarah Orloff has branched out on her own to create something that expertly juxtaposes what we know her best for. On her debut single called “Take Me Away”, she’s delicately moved away from the electrorock sound and put something together that not only highlights her vocals, but pivots into a whole new range of sound and style. It should come as no surprise, but we thoroughly enjoyed listening to this and know everyone out there will feel the same.
Single handedly written, performed, and produced solely by Sarah, it’s hard not to be immediately entranced into the song’s hypnotizing nature. Not to compare too much to her counterpart Opium Ink, but those songs typically embodied a high energy nature, but we sincerely like the more downbeat and focused approach that she displayed. Of course it’s easy to fall in love with the immersive soundscapes and atmosphere here, but Sarah’s vocals provide a guiding light and a needed focus into the story that she’s delivering. The mood and her cadence fit perfectly with the vibe of the song and it’s easily the thing that we enjoyed the most about our listen.
Going forward though, we’re not quite sure if this isolated singe was a passion project or just a small break from the band. With that being said though, it’s welcomed with open arms and we loved the shift in styles. It shows a growth within the artist and also the ability to know that her range is even bigger than we initially thought. Here’s to hoping that more is on the way for now, but in the meantime, we urge everyone out there to check out “Take Me Away” as soon as you can.
