Crafting together her own unique style of electronic pop, SABRINA is exuding all the confidence in her music, but “5AM” has gone a step above that. Showcasing a dynamic production on top of her silky smooth vocals, it’s legitimately been tough to get this one out of our heads. Without a doubt, you’re not going to want to miss out on this lush new single.
Slightly reminiscent of genre powerhouses like Little Dragon and FKA Twigs, “5AM” left us feeling empowered like we were on top of the world ready to take on anything. The melodies are clear and concise, but by the end of it all we wanted to do was start it over and try to chase the high of our initial listen. Although this is only SABRINA’s fifth overall single, she’s making statements in everything she’s doing and setting a bright base for a consistent future.
On the background of the song, the artist says, ““5AM was written when I couldn’t get much sleep, melodies kept coming into my head and it ended up being my next single. This song is all about being aware of what that person or situation has on you. It’s not a sad love song. It’s a chance to dance to love”.
In the world of electronic pop where things are starting to mesh together with sounds from so many artist, it’s songs like this that deliver fresh style and originality for years going forward. It’s no wonder or surprise that’s garnering support from playlists and outlets all over the world, and in fact, it’s an honor to even be writing about her now.
