Robbie Vonn shines bright with eclectic single, "La La Life"
Further evolving his sound on his much anticipated new single, “La La Life”, Robbie Vonn has gone above and beyond in creating something completely striking. Please read on for our positive review of the track, as well as an update on the artist.
As much as we quickly fell in love with Robbie Vonn’s debut EP Hopeless Memories back in 2021, he’s taken the best elements from that release and crafted an extraordinary follow up called “La La Life”. It features heavenly female vocals on top of an electropop-inspired production backed by an immersive and atmospheric soundscape. Let this one make you feel like you’re floating on a cloud, don’t miss it!
While Robbie has consistently been known for blending genres from progressive rock to electronic, we do feel that he’s leaned on one side here more to a synth-based production with other elements. You’ll hear glimmers of an orchestra sprinkled throughout that gives “La La Life” depth and complexity, but he’s also left his signature flowiness into the mix as well. His discography is growing now on a consistent basis which has given us such a better understanding on where we think he’ll pivot and go in the future. If it’s anything like this in terms of smooth and clever lyricism with a hypnotic backbone, then count us in for more immediately.
On the background of this track lyrically though, it’s essentially a song about forgiveness if you listen closely. Infusing a driving beat of classic Brazilian bossa nova, it’s another avenue he’s opened up to explore down the road. Honestly, what we’ve enjoyed so much about his music as a whole is specifically not creating boundaries for himself. Robbie is a producer at heart with an imagination that will take him to endless places. You don’t want to put constraints on someone with a massive musical knowledge, otherwise you won’t get gems like this one.
