Red Skies Mourning create a whole new sound on single, "Deep Moonlight"

Infusing so many bold genres into an isolated single, Red Skies Mourning has delivered something special in their new single, “Deep Moonlight”. Please read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on the band.

What is essentially a rebranding of the project has come new styles, sounds, and ultimately a step in the right direction. Their latest musical endeavor is titled “Deep Moonlight” and is self-described by the artist as The Legend of Zelda meets The Weeknd and Post Malone. After listening countless times, we’ve come to love it and couldn’t agree more with that statement. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll give this one a spin as soon as you can.

With help on the beats from Cesar Da Emperor, as well as Chris Aleshire and Ryan Curtis, comes a perfectly well rounded single that’s bound to get stuck in your head for days. The influences listed above certainly stay true to the tone and atmosphere of the song, but it looks like that sound is going to continue to evolve as this project takes shape. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed every moment on “Deep Moonlight”, so we know for absolute fact we’ll be keeping up with further releases from Red Skies Mourning.

Recorded virtually all across the United States, we hope these collaborations don’t slow down in the upcoming year. The smoothness and almost relaxing feel that this song gave us was unexpected given the influence, however everything about it goes back to the feeling of being well rounded. Seriously, the video game inspiration on the instrumentation side wouldn’t normally seem like a complement, but it works so incredibly well. As for the vocals, they border on a Hip Hop delivery, but in an extremely approachable way for all to enjoy.

With that being said, this rebrand in sound from Red Skies Mourning has become something that we’d like to further explore in the future. If this happens to be your introduction to the project, well then you’ve stumbled upon something big in real time!
