Project 1268 craft a nostalgic sounding single, "How I Came To Be"

Long awaited, but finally arrived, the music duo of Project 1268 have delivered an absolutely outstanding second single, “How I Came To Be”. Read on for our stellar review of the track, as well as a background on the band.

Made up of Craig Brown and Haley Webster, Project 1268 are aiming to include a wild array of influence and style in their sound. We thoroughly enjoyed their debut “Happiness”, but what they’ve served up on “How I Came To Be” is nothing short of extraordinary. These high school friends who have reunited clearly know a thing or two about music and it shows. Don’t waste another moment not listening to this song.

With Haley’s vocals at the helm and collectively sending shivers down our spine with each line delivered, the entire song structure of this track is completely innovative and striking. On the background of it all, the duo says that this is a “tribute to multi-part story songs in Meat Loaf style” and it’s “dedicated to everyone who has escaped a manipulative relationship”. While it will all make sense once you hit the play button, this song is legitimately like nothing we’ve ever heard before, but in the best way possible.

Stylistically, it feels like something pulled directly out of the 70’s or 80’s, but with a modern twist that allows it to fully be in the conversation of what’s being shared today. While Project 1268 only have two songs to their name thus far, both of them have left positive memories in our mind and have consistently been listened to on our playlists. Considering we’re still at the top of 2022 when this is being released, our hope is that this year is their biggest yet and we see a handful of more music headed our way.

If for some reason you’ve yet to explore Project 1268, let this be the wake up call to dive on in. Please do yourselves a favor and check out the links below in order to listen, follow along, and stay tuned for everything else on the way. Enjoy!
