Originally from Chile, Priss is on the path to represent free and empowered women through the lyricism and messaging in her music. Inspired by legends like Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, she’s masterfully crafted a dancehall classic that is virtually impossible not to groove to. Just like everything else she’s put out so far, it’s beyond wonderful, and we are highly recommending a listen.
While we don’t necessarily understand the lyrics as it’s not in English, according to Priss, the song is urging strong and beautiful women to make their own decisions. As she’s had a passion for making music since she was a young girl, the energy and focus that’s gone into music making has been nothing short of impressive. Starting with theater, dance, and singing workshops has allowed this musician to hone in her craft and reflect her feelings in a desired art form.
At just a little over three minutes in run time, it’s not overly difficult to get lost in the atmosphere and repeating beat of the song. While Priss’ vocals are certainly the star of the show, the complete package of the song from the production to the hypnotic instrumentation really put it over the top for us. We loved it so much we had no choice but to explore the rest of her discography, and to no surprise, it’s seriously fantastic. Her brand of music is so unique and pairs so well with this time of the year.
Overwhelmingly and resoundingly, “A Mi Manera” is a certified and instant classic, we loved every moment so much that we didn’t want it to end. Thankfully, it’s streaming and gives us the option to have it in the background and all are dance-related playlists to listen to at a moment’s notice.
