Post Animal Reunite with Djo for New Album "IRON", New Single "Last Goodbye" Out Now

Post Animal, the Chicago-based psych and prog rock quintet, returns with “Last Goodbye,” the lead single from their forthcoming album IRON, set to release on July 25th. This track not only signifies a sonic evolution for the band but also marks a poignant reunion with former bandmate Joe Keery, known for his solo project Djo. Their collaboration rekindles the creative synergy that defined their early days, offering fans a glimpse into the matured artistry that has developed over seven years apart.

“Last Goodbye” unfolds as a slow-burning exploration of the complexities surrounding the end of a relationship. The track’s deliberate pacing and introspective lyrics create a contemplative atmosphere, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in the emotional landscape the band paints. The instrumentation is both lush and restrained, featuring layered guitar textures and atmospheric synths that build to a cathartic crescendo. Keery’s contribution adds a familiar yet evolved dimension to the song, his vocals weaving seamlessly with the band’s harmonies to evoke a sense of nostalgia and growth.

Currently on a sold-out U.S. tour, Post Animal’s live performances are a testament to their dynamic range and cohesive musicianship. The anticipation for IRON is palpable, as “Last Goodbye” sets the tone for an album that promises to delve deeper into the band’s progressive roots while embracing new sonic territories. This single not only highlights their ability to craft emotionally resonant music but also underscores the enduring bond between the band members, past and present.

As Post Animal continues to evolve, “Last Goodbye” stands as a compelling chapter in their musical journey—a blend of reflection, innovation, and heartfelt expression that resonates with both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
