Optacure shares endearing bedroom pop track, "Mingaw"
Officially released in 2020, but still equally as wonderful today, Optacure’s relaxed single “Mingaw” is absolutely a must listen. Please read on for our full and in-depth review of the track, as well as a background on the artist.
For those out of the loop on Optacure, he’s an independent bedroom pop singer and songwriter who’s surely paving his own way in the beauty he’s creating. With the help on the vocals side from Debb on “Mingaw”, the two have collaborated for an ultimately chill and laid back song that we’ve quickly fallen in love with. Virtually guaranteed to calm your senses, we highly recommend you give it a listen as soon as possible.
On the background of “Mingaw”, Optacure is telling his personal story of solitude from two perspectives, “the lonely, and the one looking after the lonely”. “Mingaw” represents the feeling of sorrow inherent to being isolated from the warmth of love. Clear as day within the deep lyricism, the two collaborators share the duties of conveying the message in a breathtaking and wholesome way. The song has already garnered so much love since 2020, but if you’re just discovering it today, enter the world that Optacure has crafted for you.
For this Queensland-based artist, he’s featured a stripped back instrumentation that allows for the focus to be on the vocal output and lyricism. We always appreciate a song like that, especially one that doesn’t focus on cheap gimmicky sounding production effects to lure in a new listener. There’s a real genuineness that washed over us as we listened, like the artist is speaking directly to you in an endearing way.
As far as the genre of bedroom pop goes, Optacure has nailed this one on all levels. We’d like to imagine that if there was an accompanying music video, it would literally be the artist on his bed with an acoustic guitar solemnly strumming along. Not that it’s necessary in the slightest because we were more than impressed with just the song itself. With that being said though, now’s about the time that we’ll point you to the important links below where you can not only listen, but follow along on this journey with the artist. Enjoy!
