Noontides expertly craft an impressively positive new single, "Lovely Day"
Review by Austin Sher
Set for release on January 22nd, 2021, Noontides have planned their first single of the year, “Lovely Day”, which we are head over heels with. Do yourselves a favor and read along with us for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the power duo who make up the band.
Currently based out of Nashville, Tennessee, Noontides are made up of husband and wife, Rachel and Jason Fort. Together they are crafting insanely catchy indie pop inspired tunes that are bound to get your head bobbing. While Rachel takes care of the lyrics and hooks, Jason is always striving for appealing beats to help complement.
It’s not often we cover husband and wife duos, but when we do, it’s usually because their mutual love of music before getting married is just the thing that brought them together. Not to get overly sappy or anything, but if that isn’t true love, then we don’t know what is. That situation has clearly worked out for the two because together they’ve so far created successful music that not only inspires themselves, but is inspiring all those who listen.
Specifically on “Lovely Day”, that sentiment stands. At just a tad under 3 minutes in track length, Noontides have managed to expertly blend positive lyricism that is 100% guaranteed to get stuck in your head (currently singing it out loud) and a backing beat that makes you want to get up and groove it out. Rachel’s strong vocal output is what ties the song together ultimately, but without Jason’s unique atmosphere that he’s built in the background, all would be lost.
It should hopefully go without saying, but we’re loving this song in every way possible. It’s ethereal, positive in nature, and is doing everything in its power to not sound like the same old stuff you hear on the radio day in and day out. We also adore the fact that the two are sharing the spotlight and excel in their own ways. They’re doing what they do best and bringing immense amount of creativity into the mix. It should also be no surprise that their most recent releases, such as “We Are” and “Stay With You” are winners as well.
While the song won’t see it’s official release until this Friday, at least now you’ve got something to look forward to this week. In the meantime, we highly suggest taking a listen to their discography released so far as an introduction to the band. You absolutely will not be disappointed in the slightest, they rock. Until then, enjoy!
