Noah Richardson crafts a laid back & passion-filled debut, "Dead To Me"
Officially released after a series of successful singles, we’re beyond thrilled with the debut album Dead To Me from Noah Richardson. Keep reading for a closer look into the record, as well as a much needed background on this artist.
Currently based out of Philadelphia, Noah Richardson has effortlessly put together this debut album titled Dead To Me that infuses and touches on multiple styles and genres, but still manages to have a real lyrical edge about it. Telling stories from his personal life that simply have you hooked from the opener and title track, it didn’t take long for us to feel the vibe and atmosphere that he was giving off. We already plan on coming back for subsequent listens, but if you haven’t clicked the play button yet, now would be the ideal time to do so.
With help on the production and mixing from Tyler Ripley and recorded at Little Brother Audio in Philadelphia, PA, all involved really came together to transcend sound. Right at the top of the record, you’re hit directly with this subtle blend of what we would call acoustic Hip Hop in a way, but in sort of a much more approachable fashion than other similar releases. A major takeaway was how well Noah controls the energy and gives off emotion through his dynamic vocals as it really becomes a focal point as the record goes on. Coming in at 12 total tracks, spanning a little over 30 minutes, he also covers some pretty serious and relatable topics too. The relaxed and laid back vibe he gives off is part of the charm, but the delivery in his voice is what kept us sucked in.
An unexpected surprise through our initial listen though was immersive and cohesive Dead To Me ended up being. Having been familiar with the singles, it was such a nice feeling to listen start to finish and have every song so perfectly flow in tone and mood from one to the other. Sure, there are plenty of breakout instrumental moments that take the spotlight and continue to pique interest, but all in all the record is a bundle of calm in its demeanor which is exactly what we were hoping for. It takes production risks like on tracks “WHEREVER YOU GO” and “Tony Hawk”, but doesn’t fly too far from how it all started.
Truly though, we sincerely loved our listen and know you will too! Go ahead and please check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with all news in the future.
