Neon Fields explode in sound on latest single, "Meant To Be"
Hitting the entire spectrum of emotions on just one song, Neon Fields have an all new one titled “Meant To Be” that we are loving! Please read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on the band.
Based out of the UK, Neon Fields are creating an impeccably bold sound that encompasses elements of dark industrial rock and atmospheric soundscapes. Pushing their style to the absolute limit, their latest single “Meant To Be” is a total wall of sound that absolutely has not disappointed. If this is your introduction to the band, prepare yourselves to be turned into super fans after your initial listen.
Made up of Ed Barrett (lead vocals), Luke Russe (drums) and Piers Ward (keyboards/guitar), this is their followup to their positively acclaimed debut EP, Neon Fields - EP 1. Proving what they were made of on the EP, they’ve gone ahead and expanded that core sound into something incredibly special that has left us in pure awe. Starting off slow and slightly emotional, “Meant To Be” eventually explodes into a synth-fueled powerhouse track that’s just begging for you to listen again.
With a full length album on the way slated for release sometime in mid-2022, the band feels that this will be the lead single. We fully agree and are on board with that, because considering this was our intro to the band, they’ve impressed us to the point where we’ll undoubtedly and patiently be waiting for the follow up. Really though, as sonically pleasing as the track is, they haven’t lacked on the lyricism either. The song tells a story of “unrequited love and sinister obsession” that challenges the listener to focus in and connect the dots.
One last thing we overwhelmingly feel the need to point out is just how crazy the amount of sound that’s coming from just three members. Each knows their place so well and excels on their instruments, but the complete “wow factor” they’ve infused into just one song is outstanding.
