Joining forces on “Back to Sleep”, Canadian producer Miles Away and American vocalist Danni Carra have gone above and beyond on their newest single, “Back to Sleep”. Hitting euphoric highs within the vocals and creating a deep and textured production, this quickly checked all of our boxes for something that we’d consider to be transcendent in sound. If for some reason you’ve not discovered either of these artists, this is the perfect introduction to further go down the rabbit hole of their music.
On the background of it all, ultimately it’s a song about “the comfort we seek in our dreams from our real life issues, the way we want to escape to an easier space where we can forget our problems”. Extremely relatable through every lyric delivered, the two have also managed to easily capture the emotion of that particular situation. The rise and fall of the drama and suspense on “Back to Sleep” was certainly one of our major standouts, but honestly, it’s the well rounded feeling and completeness it holds too. Not only do you get the impassioned vocals from Danni from beginning to end, but you’re fully immersed through the sound from Miles Away. On so many collaborations we experience, they tend to be one sided, but this is the first time in a long time where everything came together wonderfully.
After finding each other on the internet through Miles Away’s love of Danni’s vocals on a SLANDER track, this is what began their journey as collaborators. They’ve even said it’s a departure from their normal style, but leaning more towards the indie electronic side of things like you’ll experience here, we truly hope there’s more being cooked up on the way.
