Mike Habhab opens up on his personal single, "What You've Been Doing to Me" - Interview
Released officially in 2020, but still as fantastic today, we got the special opportunity to sit and speak with Mike Habhab all about his single, "What You've Been Doing to Me". Please check out our full interview with the artist below.
Bordering on country and rock, Mike Habhab had a bit of help putting "What You've Been Doing to Me" from Producer and Engineer Chuck Alkazian, plus Zach Radcliff on the vocals. Written by Mike himself, ultimately he’s putting himself on the line and opening up to his personal experiences through vivid lyricism. Additionally, this song is a part of a full EP of tunes titled A Music Collection that we highly recommend you check out in full as well.
According to Mike, the purpose of his song is, “to share my story to others who have gone through pain, betrayal, and losing a part of yourself. My inspiration came from some experiences that I, and others, went through personally. It was a song that was created for myself and for them.” He continues, “It’s important to me because I felt that it was needed. I had been carrying some pent-up emotions that needed to be released and the song was a perfect outlet.”
Speaking on the song itself though, the initial reaction was just how vibrant and upbeat it was. Due to a varied instrumentation and the bridging of the gap between genres, Mike’s vision of the song certainly came to fruition in bringing energy and optimism into the mix. Of course getting to speak with Mike was the cherry on top to our multiple listens through his music. He gave us a much needed background on his thought process behind its creation, what it was like getting in the studio, and even a glimpse into what’s coming in the future. From the sounds of it, he’s got a couple tracks up his sleeve that should be seeing a release sooner rather than later, so make sure to keep up.
