Mara Sol's latest release "Like Fire" is a captivating indie folk and pop gem that highlights the singer, songwriter, and producer's immense talent and musicianship. Hailing from Coachella Valley, California, Sol is a natural born musician who started singing in musical theater from the young age of 7, eventually training in classical voice at Cornish College in Seattle, Washington. After a break from her early years performing, the artist has found her way back, now performing, songwriting, and producing, and her debut EP "Walking the Road" released last year gave a glimpse of her signature indie folk and pop sound. With "Like Fire," Mara Sol continues to showcase her prowess as a multi-talented artist, having written, recorded, and produced the single.
Drawing influences from legendary artists such as James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Sarah McLachlan, and many more Sol's songwriting comes from her past experiences and basically all of life leading up until now. Her sound reflects those eclectic life moments, which are blended with pop, folk, and alt-rock elements, resulting in a nostalgic yet unique sound. "Like Fire" is a perfect representation of Sol's distinct sound, featuring an infectious melody that hooks the listener from the first note. Her vocals, reminiscent of some of the legends but still signature to herself, are mesmerizing and effortlessly showcase her range and depth as a singer. The track's instrumentation, consisting of mainly acoustic instrumentation provide a perfect backdrop for Sol's emotive lyrics.
