Lyon Tide debut an exhilarating single and music video for "Closure"
Review by Austin Sher
Back with a new single and a music video to accompany it, Lyon Tide have officially shared their latest, “Closure”. Do yourselves a favor and read along with us as we share our thoughts on the track and video, in addition to a brief background on the band as well.
Made up of Darren Barnard (vocals & guitars), Anthony La Pusata (lyrics & keyboards), and Girish Patel (drums & bass), Lyon Tide are an alternative pop rock band currently based out of Birmingham, UK. Together they are crafting incredibly catchy tunes, conceptual music videos, and have plans for even more to be released later this year.
Now while the song was shared initially on January 1st, 2021 to ring in the New Year, the band have now debuted the music video to go along with it. If any song deserved a music video like this to go along with the song, it’s “Closure”. While we don’t want to give too much away, because we’d prefer you listened or watched for yourself, we’ll just give you a breakdown of our thoughts on the single itself.
On “Closure”, the band makes themselves feel larger than life, or at least bigger than the three piece that they are. Featuring big emotional drums, subtle synthesizers, and hard hitting lyrics, the song itself has everything we’re looking for in our personal tastes of music. As lovers of nearly everything alternative, our bars are always set a bit higher than usual. With that being said though, we’re incredibly impressed with what Lyon Tide have created here.
For a debut single specifically, it’s always an interesting time while a band tries to reel everything in and find a signature sound. Seriously, we hope they don’t change too much on their forthcoming releases. This is a sound that is not overplayed, overdone, and deserves to be expanded on. Seeing that they’ve got more in the works set for 2021, we’re extremely excited to see what gets shared. We’ll be keeping a close eye on their trajectory from here on out.
Wrapping it up though, check out Lyon Tide, you will not regret it. Listen, watch, and stay tuned for more by clicking the links below.
