Lost Tuesday Society create a modern folk classic "Lights" off upcoming LP
Just released on October 1st, 2021, Lost Tuesday Society have just shared an inspiring new teaser track titled “Lights” off their upcoming record. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll keep reading for our positive review of this fantastic song.
With an all new album called Bee Skin Rug gearing up for its release on October 22nd, 2021, Lost Tuesday Society’s lead single “Lights” has been the perfect introduction to what’s undoubtedly going to be a stellar record. Swirling with nearly every musical genre under the sun, this new song was a wonderfully euphoric listen that music lovers across the spectrum are going to have zero problems getting into. Needless to say, we’re highly recommending a listen right now.
Composed of Jay Browning (bass), Alfie Scheinman (guitar, flute, vocals), Sarah Birch (guitar, vocals), Darran Browning (guitar, vocals), Simon Jones (drums), and Kate Ronconi (violin, vocals), Lost Tuesday Society are putting together an eclectic mix of alternative folk that hits endless highs with their harmonic vocals. After our initial listen of “Lights”, we found that their sound on this single was slightly reminiscent of a more modern day Jethro Tull, but in a way that left us feeling like we needed to hear a lot more. Thankfully that album is not too far from release!
Seriously though, blending together so many styles may sound easy on paper, but the execution tends to be the most difficult part of it all. Lost Tuesday Society has excelled in their endeavour to break the mold of what “traditional” folk music and infuse it with a signature sound of their own. Truly, “Lights” is like nothing we’ve ever heard before and they had our ears glued from the opening notes to the final moments. Whether it was the flute solo that seemingly came out of nowhere, the shiver-inducing vocals, or the top tier production, they’ve created fans for life in us.
If that isn’t enough to get you to get listening, then we don’t know what to say. What we will do though is point you in the direction of the important links below in order to give their music the time it deserves. You can also follow along with their social media to stay up to date on everything new as well. Enjoy!
