Lost On The Metro return to talk exceptional EP, "Buried Bones" - Interview

It’s always a pleasure when Jilly and David Morey of Lost On The Metro stop by for an interview and this time around we got the opportunity to chat about their newest EP, Buried Bones. Please enjoy our full conversation with the artists below.

As always if you happen to be unfamiliar with the greatness that is Lost On The Metro, they’re a husband and wife Americana duo currently based out of Saint Louis, Missouri. Over the years we’ve had the chance to speak with these talented musicians in which they’ve openly shared a behind the scenes look on how their music is made, the synergy of their relationship, and so much more. Thankfully their creative streaks are still alive and they’ve sincerely crushed it with the fresh release of an all new EP Buried Bones, in which we’re urging everyone out there to give it a spin.

Nearly four months back we spoke to the duo about their single “Mariana” which ended up making the cut on Buried Bones, but nothing could have prepared us for the other five tracks that made up the rest of the record. Considering we’ve heard it all, this does feel like a minor sonic change compared to past listens, however they’ve still managed to maintain that signature essence and feel that makes them so special. Jilly’s exceptional poetry is consistently the star of the show as she’s so expressive in the stories that she creates. What has made Buried Bones different than other releases is the close attention to detail within the sound engineering, mainly feeling like the instrumentals have leveled up in maturity and complexity. Additionally, the whole of this EP has a cohesive feeling that runs flawlessly from beginning to end.

There’s always infinitely positive things to say about Lost On The Metro’s music but some things become difficult to put into words because they’re best experienced by actually listening. The fusion, love, and passion that Jilly and David bring to their discography can’t be taught. As mentioned in our conversation, it’s a non-manufactured and effortless feel that continues to make them stick out. We love it and we know you will too, so please take the time to enjoy.
