Letchen Grey share the finer details on latest single, "Castaway" - Interview
Taking the time out of their busy schedules to talk “Castaway”, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with Letchen Grey all about their newest single. Please watch our full interview below.
For those potentially out of the loop, Letchen Grey aren’t strangers in the slightest to the music scene. Formed originally in the 1980’s, they’re a four-piece made up of Mark Andersen (rhythm guitar), Tony Ross (drums), Bradley Mangrum (vocals), and Jeff Rey (bass). Consistently putting together an exotic fusion of rock, with plenty of their own personality entering the mix as well, their latest track “Castaway” is truly something special and a real return to form compared to the rest of their discography. Speaking with them was an absolute joy and we cannot wait for everyone to enjoy our conversation.
As a musician of any era, there’s always a fantasy of playing on the Sunset Strip at any of the legendary venues like The Viper Room, The Troubadour, and so many more. For Letchen Grey, that fantasy was true back in the 80’s, and thankfully they’ve made their way there again. Nowadays their newer tracks certainly have plenty of modern elements as any growing band should, but what makes them special is that essence of the 70’s that features masterful hooks, melodic guitar riffs, and a sincere passion that comes through in the vocal delivery. “Castaway” as an example truly feels like the ideal culmination of their sound as a whole and a perfect introduction to anyone who’s just discovering them now.
During our conversation, we touched on plenty of important topics, but the major standouts had to be the band’s dynamic of creating, the process of making their music, and even a peek into what 2023 might have to offer. It’s always such a positive to get to know exactly what their music stands for as well, which was ultimately the cherry on top to our lovely chat.
All in all, Letchen Grey are for real, and the talent, music, and stature speaks for itself. If you haven’t done so already, please go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with everything else on the way.
