Track Review: Khruangbin drop new single, So We Won't Forget, ahead of new LP release

Khruangbin have just released another incredible single ahead of their newest LP, Mordechai. This morning, the Houston trio put out another fantastic and classic track, So We Won’t Forget.
Immediately, the song screams “This is a Khruangbin song!”. The feeling that invokes is instantly reminiscent of anything the trio has ever put out before, in obviously the best way possible. While it isn’t groundbreaking by any means, the summery feeling of laying beach side with an icey cocktail is immediately when I imagine within the first 30 seconds of the song.
The vocals on the track are a bit repetitive, as the repeated lines of So We Won’t Forget ring through and through. In my opinion though, the vocals on any Khruangbin track are never ever meant to be the forefront of the song. In fact, I prefer the older tracks that feature just instrumental breakdowns, but I still very much appreciate the fact that slowly but surely the group has incorporated lyrics into the beautiful instrumentation. Just like the release of 2018’s Con Todo El Mundo, their music instantly transports me into times of good and endless relaxation, something the entire world needs now more than ever, so thanks for that Khruangbin!
As fans gear up for the release of the bands 3rd LP, Mordechai, these singles that they’ve released so far are providing a fantastic insight as to what we can expect when the album drops on June 26th of 2020. Nearly a month away for what we can only imagine will be the album of the summer. Will we be able to comfortably attend beaches while bumping this in our expensive headphones? Well, I truly hope so, but at this point, who really has the answers.
All we know is that this song bumps, it’s going to age wonderfully, and at the least I’ll be listening on long drives with the windows down.
