Keylation come storming back on high energy single, "The Darkness"
With their second single of the year, and third overall, Keylation have come storming back with an absolute rocker titled “The Darkness''. We’re loving this one, so please read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the band as well.
Based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Keylation are an alternative hard rock trio that were formed in 2013. Led at the helm by guitarist and singer Matt Lekochinsky, the band has finalized their latest lineup for the time being. On their newest released single “The Darkness”, the band have cranked it up a notch and maximized their sound.
Recorded in August of 2020, midway through the COVID-19 pandemic, you can only imagine the immense challenges the band went through in order to get this finished. Thankfully though, through plenty of safety, precautions, and a helpful recording engineer, “The Darkness” came to life. We’re thrilled it did, because we really want you to get listening to this track as soon as humanly possible.
Hoping to release a 5-song EP by the end of this year, we’ll legitimately take anything we can get as we were beyond impressed by this latest output. Truly, it was hard to believe that a grandiose sound like this was put out by just three members. It all starts out with a screaming guitar riff, followed by big booming drums, and the entrance of Lekochinsky’s unique vocals that brought a tone to it at all that sold us over the most.
Filled with imagery-filled lyricism and a bombtastic beat that makes you want to headbang, this track coming in at nearly four minutes is exactly the type of music you need in your life in order to spice it up. For some, “hard rock'' can be a bit of a turn off at times, but let it be known and communicated to you right now that Keylation have put forward an approachable version that lovers of music across the board will be able to get into. You might as well dig into the rest of their tunes as well while you’re at it.
It should probably come as no surprise, but we’re urging all the listens to this track, as well as everything that’s planned to come as well. We know we’ll be listening, but will you? Do yourselves a favor and check out all the links below in order to listen and follow along for more. Enjoy!
