Karen Harding puts forth heartfelt debut single, "I Didn't Realise"
Officially released on May 7th, 2021, Karen Harding has come right out of the gate with a highly emotional and heartfelt debut single, “I Didn’t Realise”. We loved it! Please read with us as we share our thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the artist.
Currently representing the Melbourne music scene, Karen Harding is crafting bittersweet melodies that are piano driven and filled with deeply complex lyricism. On her debut single, “I Didn’t Realise”, we immediately loved every single note that was delivered. Truly, she’s impressed us so early on in her career with this fantastic new song.
Led by a melancholy piano performance, it’s not long into this near four minute experience that the star of the show comes out, Karen Harding. On “I Didn’t Realise”, Karen whisks away the listener on a riveting experience that digs into human emotion. Bringing us all together for one moment, the lyricism here is what sold us, but her vocal range is what’s going to make us stick around for the rest of her soon to be illustrious career.
Inspired by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Tracey Chapman, and Joan Baez, Karen Harding has implemented her own signature sound and style into a musical genre that can be difficult to circumvent. With that being said though, she’s made us proud to say that we got in the ground floor of her musical journey and with “I Didn’t Realise” being her first formal release, it’s got us beyond excited to see what comes in the following months and years.
Considering that this single feels like a deeply personal one that Karen has pulled from certain life experiences, it’s beyond commendable for her to share her innermost thoughts. Songs like these take time and courage to release, so we’d obviously not want to rush her into the next. That’s why in this case, we’ll just be listening to this track on repeat until the next one comes.
With all that being said though, our sincere hope here is that you check out this single and give it all your attention. It’s just the type of mood that you need to be in and will absolutely make you feel some much needed emotion.
