Jennifer Juliette crafts true beauty on her single, "Columns"
Focusing on Jennifer Juliette’s single “Columns”, which was our favorite track off her newest EP Anchor, this artist has truly gone above and beyond in all regards to the record. Please read on for our full review of the song, as well as a background on this immensely talented artist.
Currently representing the Berlin music scene, Jennifer Juliette is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist that is evoking all sorts of emotion within her unique style of sound. On her single “Columns”, Jennifer wrote the song as a reminder that “even the strongest foundations can break under stress and distrust”. We love this song so much and honestly can’t wait for everyone out there to give it a listen.
Centering the song around her dynamic and soulful vocals, Jennifer Juliette has implemented the use of a dramatic piano ballad to really convey her message. Having performed at some of the greatest music venues on Earth such as the Vienna Opera House and London’s Royal Albert Hall, she’s no stranger to the world of music, and it’s only right that the world gets to hear hers. Jam packed with superlative lyricism that paints a picture of her stories and struggles, we can confidently claim that not only is this song a winner, but the entirety of Anchor is as well.
At just a little over three minutes in total run time, it’s a bit hard to believe how moving a song could really be. Immediately Jennifer throws the listener into her world and doesn’t let go until the final notes and moments. Speaking on the production side, we surely loved that as exploratory as the instrumentation was, the vocals were perfectly placed in the mix so as to not overpower it at all. It really can’t be overstated how much her voice adds to the complete package of it all, but we suppose you’ll just have to listen to see if it’s true or not.
While of course we recommend giving “Columns” a listen, it becomes that much better when you listen to the whole of Anchor too. The flow on the 4 song EP is unmatched, however the song ordering and where “Columns” is placed really felt like the ultimate high point of it all. At this point though we feel it’s probably best if you just give it a listen, which is why we’ve included all the important links below. Enjoy!
