Jeffrey Chan cranks it up on synth-fueled song, "Vertigo"
Staying incredibly busy this year and back at it again with another instantly catchy single, we’re loving “Vertigo” by Jeffrey Chan. Please read on for a closer look at the track, in addition to an update on this artist.
After falling in love with his last song “You Only Want Me When I’m Gone”, Jeffrey Chan has made a swift return with another high energy bop he’s called “Vertigo”. Working once again his producer Dibs, this Sydney-based pop artist has infused a ton of 80’s inspiration into the song that features reverberating synthesizers and his dynamic vocals to evoke a certain mood. In our sincere opinion, it’s another classic from this rising star, and we can’t wait for everyone to give it a listen as soon as possible.
According to Jeffrey on the background of it all, “‘Vertigo’ is a song that captures the feeling of the euphoric and dizzying highs of falling in love, and how sometimes this love can be almost obsessive, and drive you to do crazy things”. In an all too relatable statement, he makes it quite clear within the lyricism presented that love is a consistently wild situation to be in. Taking those words though and creating a hit track around them is never an easy task, but with a talented team behind him, anything is possible.
Paying a little closer attention to the production and song composition, that’s really where “Vertigo” shines the brightest. Obviously it’s a very pop-centric single that holds so many classic elements, but the consistent rollercoaster of pulsating beats and nicely timed pauses add such a complexity to the whole mix. They’re scattered throughout the listen, but it’s where this song goes from good to great. The attention to detail here truly has not been skipped out on and while “Vertigo” is minimalistic in a sense, it’s maximalist in its infinite grooves from start to finish.
Considering this is Jeffrey’s first original release of the year that isn’t a remix, we’re anxiously awaiting a follow up! Whenever that may be, we don’t know, but in the meantime we urge everyone to check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with the latest news.
