Jeffrey Chan pens an intimate & upbeat single, "Over"

On an absolute tear in 2022, Jeffrey Chan has made his return with another richly produced track titled “Over”. Keep reading for an in-depth look into the track, as well as an update on the artist.

It’s been nearly four months since we last reviewed Jeffrey Chan and his synth-drenched single “Over”, but this time, he’s continued to expand his sound and hone his vocals on his latest, “Over”. Keeping with the sonic themes of nostalgic synthesizers yet a completely futuristic production, we immediately felt that this one leaned heavily into the messaging and themes being covered within the lyricism. Gaining a following with each massive release, we can’t help but recommend everyone out there to give this a spin immediately.

Sticking to that vibrant and upbeat new wave-inspired sound, Jeffrey Chan is further exploring new sounds and tones within his niche that are fueling his growth as an artist. This time he’s accompanied by a music video that simply puts these words into motion and “explores the feeling of finding escape and freedom in amongst traumatic and negative situations”. Of course the songwriting is always top tier and paints those vivid images through describing sentiments, but there’s nothing like a fantastic music video to really further immerse the listener into the storyline and let them relive it for themselves.

Ultimately it’s a break up song and coming to terms with the end, and while that never gets easier, creating music as an outlet to cope seems super healthy in the long run to get that much needed closure. In Jeffrey’s case though, he’s continuing on in that experimental phase through music that allows him to live life and create those experiences for others to relate to. His last track “Vertigo” was sensational in every sense of the word, but for some reason, “Over” feels a lot more intimate and close to the heart. We’re witnessing an artist build up a repertoire of styles and approaches in real time and it’s such a joy to be able to write these positive reviews of music that we legitimately love. If you haven’t yet dug into Jeffrey Chan’s music, now would be the ideal time to do so!
