It was only five months ago that we were introduced to the music of Jamie Bosanko through his single, “Just A Moment”, so you can only imagine our sincere excitement to know that he had a new one on the way titled “What’s The Middle 8?”. Keeping to a similar vibe of a soul filled delivery and a heavy emphasis on the lyricism, Jamie’s voice shines through for something that ultimately feels both sincere and raw. We’ve been listening nonstop, and with that, are highly recommending everyone give this a listen as soon as you can.
Living in the Northwest of England in a tiny town called Barrow, Jamie is crafting together an incredibly inspired mix of classic singer songwriter tunes that mainly rely on subtle electronics to create the atmospheres and moods. On “What’s The Middle 8?”, the song is generally more on the minimalistic side instrumentally, but like mentioned on his past track, fits extremely well given the context and overall tone. With influences like Tom Petty and Aimee Mann influencing his songwriting direction, you can certainly feel him channeling them at times, but wholeheartedly this comes across as something super genuine and original. On the background of it all, ultimately the song covers symbolism of “waiting, wanting, and hoping”. W
Recorded at Digital Man Studios and released via Seahouse Records, we can confidently say that there’s plenty more on the way. In fact, listeners can take these two recently released songs and know that they’re set to be put on an EP coming sometime in the near future. Considering that there are so many similarities, the cohesiveness of the two is making them shapeup to a full record that’s surely going to be a front to back listen. We’re hoping that some of these stories come together and paint a bigger picture, but for now, we’ll be patiently waiting for whatever is next!
