Jamie Bosanko previews his EP with heartfelt single, "Just A Moment"
Previewing another stellar single titled “Just A Moment” off of his upcoming EP, we’ve got nothing but positives surrounding Jamie Bosanko. Read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on the artist.
Reemerging for his first series of consistent releases since 2015’s Echolocation, we’re thrilled to say that Jamie Bosanko is back and better than ever. While he’s been consistent within his local music scene, he’s also been busy at work crafting solo singles in the process. His newest musical endeavor is called “Just A Moment” and it features his serene vocals on top of a minimalistic instrumentation. We’ve sincerely enjoyed our multiple listens and can’t wait for everyone out there to give it a spin.
Inspired by Aimee Mann, Tom Petty, and so many more, he’s still managed to infuse a whole lot of his own personality and signature touch into the feel of the song. You’ll quickly realize, but it’s a fairly vocal forward presentation that focuses heavily on lyricism and deep contextual themes. Says Jamie on its background, “‘Just A Moment’ is a song that deals with themes of loss, the process of grief and precious memories we hold on to”. Lyrically speaking, he’s helping the listener to cope with their personal anguish if they’re feeling any and we honestly think it’s a brave thing to do given the serious subject matter.
While the song is certainly melancholy in moments, there’s a guiding light of optimism and intrigue towards the end. Stylistically we think the stripped back nature of it was the right decision due to the tone, but it doesn’t stop Jamie from dropping in glimmers of high moments vocally and almost spiritually. This is his second single release so far leading up to the EP, and while we don’t have a release date for it just yet, we wholeheartedly recommend everyone out there familiarize yourself with his work. “Just A Moment” was fantastic, but don’t skip out on the lead single “She Deserves The Sun” either.
