Inhu deliver an exceptionally emotional performance on "Moment of Weakness"
Coming from a powerful music duo called Inhu, the band have just released an incredibly powerful single they’ve titled “Moment of Weakness”. Please read on for an in-depth review of the track, as well as a background on their project.
Led by Brandon Jones (vocals/guitar) and AJ Ferreira (drums), Inhu are a self-described post grunge and modern rock project currently based out of Connecticut. As this was our first introduction to their music, we didn’t quite know what to expect, but they’ve ultimately left us speechless with an emphatic single called “Moment of Weakness” that was delicately written after the death of their ex-vocalist, Alyssa Matterazzo. The song itself leans heavily on imagery-filled lyricism, but is masterfully backed up by an impressive instrumentation. We can’t wait for everyone to give this a listen as soon as possible.
Nearing right around eight minutes in complete run time, Inhu deliver the best of both worlds in which they get to share an immensely emotional performance both lyrically and on an instrumental that continually builds up to an explosion in the end. On the recording end though, Brandon and AJ let us know just how difficult it was to get this recorded due to the subject matter. With that being said though, “Moment of Weakness” serves as a song to lean on if you’re dealing with any sort of loss or a difficult point in your life. It’s probably the first thing you’ll notice when you click the play button, but the sincerity from start to finish is right at the forefront.
Taking a look at the rest of their discography and this particular track is the longest by far. There’s a couple that clock in at six minutes, however there’s definitely a reason this one was the longest. The story makes up a good chunk of it all, but the driving factor of “Moment of Weakness” is truly the instrumental that grips you from the opening note. It builds and builds with anticipation, as do the vocals, but in a way that’s unsuspecting until you get hit with a wall of sound. We really can’t make it more clear, this song is a 10 out of 10.
