Creating a truly cohesive piece of art from start to finish, ICEBERG has confidently put her all into a new EP, Swim. Keep reading as we share our positive thoughts on the record, as well as a much closer look into this emerging artist.
ICEBERG's latest EP, Swim, is a stunning collection of seven tracks that showcase her poetic lyricism and mastery of creating diverse instrumentals. The Pennsylvania-born artist and producer has recently relocated from London to a cabin in upstate New York, where she has crafted an EP that is equal parts reflective and mesmerizing. It was a lovely introduction for us to her sound and we think everyone else is going to feel the same once they get the opportunity to listen.
The title track, "Swim," opens the EP with haunting piano and delicate vocals that build into a climactic chorus. ICEBERG's voice soars, conveying a sense of vulnerability and strength that sets the tone for the rest of the record. "Can’t Forgive Me" follows with a driving beat and powerful lyrics that showcase ICEBERG's range and depth as an artist. The EP's standout track for us had to have been "Blood Bank", a beautiful track that effortlessly ties together ICEBERG's stunning warm voice and puts on a masterclass of storytelling as well. The song's introspective lyrics are complemented by atmospheric instrumentation, creating a sense of intimacy.
The EP's closing tracks add on to that cohesive feeling as well, mainly tying together themes from the beginning and compounding the greatness through the 21 minute listen. Though each song certainly takes you on an adventure and thrill ride of her life, ultimately we felt that as a whole it perfectly captures the feeling of being in a transitional phase in life.
Overall, Swim is a fantastic record that does the best job of showing ICEBERG's talent as a songwriter, producer, and vocalist. Her heart-on-her-sleeve lyrics and emotive voice make for an immaculate listening experience. Fans of ambient indie rock and soul will find much to love on this EP.
