Ian Bamberger releases stellar single "Invisible" off forthcoming record
Review by Austin Sher
Back with his second single of 2020, Ian Bamberger has just released another stellar track, “Invisible”. We are in love with it! Please do yourselves and read along with us for our full thoughts on the song, in addition to a background and insight on the artist himself.
Currently based out of New York City, Ian Bamberger is a singer and songwriter who specializes in crafting infectious tunes and relatable narratives. He takes direct inspiration from internationally acclaimed artists like The Allman Brothers, Sublime, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and James Brown, He started out initially at 12 where he started playing guitar and writing music. Bamberger seeks to positively influence society with his music, and is well on his way to becoming one of the most phenomenal artists in our generation.
Specifically on “Invisible”, Ian shares a story surrounding self-love and allowing yourself to be fully seen by strangers, the people you love, and yourself. According to the artist, “I wrote the song during quarantine and it will be the first single off a subsequent album that I am working on”. Once you’ve listened to the track, and instantly fall in love with it, get excited because we’re also looking forward to the album that’s going to release sometime after. While we’d never rush an artist into pushing more work out, we are definitely counting the days until the record releases.
As far as “Invisible” goes, right off the bat the Led Zeppelin influence shows itself as Ian delicately picks at his acoustic guitar. Not long after, his story telling takes the forefront as he so effortlessly hits the high notes on the way there. While the song is just a tad under the 4 minute mark, it manages to pack an intense amount of emotion and talent in. After multiple listens though, there’s really so many subtleties you might miss if you’re not closely paying attention, so give it a few more spins while you’re at it.
Now as great as the song was, what instantly took us by surprise were the layered vocals peppered into the mix towards the end. It truly took the song from good to great. If this is the lead single ahead of the record, then we can confidently say that we’re sure the album will be just as great, if not better.
Considering this was our first dive into the music of Ian Bamberger, it’s absolutely not going to be our last. Listening to snippets of his past discography since our introduction to “Invisible” has quickly proven he’s got what it takes. He’s the real deal. Enough reading for now though, it’s time to get listening!
