Herald K previews album "Mythologies" with stunning single, "Arethusa"
Giving his listeners a taste of what’s to come off his upcoming album, Herald K has just delivered a beauty on single, “Arethusa”. Please read on for a complete review of the track, in addition to a background on this artist.
As Herald K’s newest album Mythologies begins its preparations to release, this artist has given us a restrained yet instrumentally vibrant single called “Arethusa”. Led by the artist’s softly spoken vocals, an acoustic guitar, and blossoming strings section, this singer and songwriter has excelled once more. He’s creating music in the folk noir genre, which is something we were previously unaware of, but his niche sound is now something we need more of as soon as possible. We’re highly recommending you check it out as soon as you can.
Inspired by the ancient Greek myth of the water nymph, Arethusa, the background of this song tells the tale of t yin & yang, temptation, passion, and transformation. For this Norway-born and now Austria-based artist, he’s delicately mixing together hard hitting lyricism and a gripping sound and style that is legitimately like nothing we’ve experienced before. Of course we’re familiar with straightforward folk music, with an emphasis on strings, however the implementation of Greek mythology is an element that wasn’t expected, but 100% works. Not only does it provide a learning opportunity for those unaware, but also his song composition is the definition of original and breathtaking.
Herald K’s inspirations are vast in the way he’s formed this, but even alludes to some Americana-esque elements that surely show themselves in his delivery. With the entirety of Mythologies on the way, he’s properly building up hype for himself by thinking outside the box and truly creating a brand of his own that’s guaranteed to make him standout. His vocals for one are not overpowering and expertly set the tone, mood, and atmosphere of what to expect from the song as well. We’ve been nothing but impressed by “Arethusa” and are now patiently awaiting a follow up prior to the album release.
For now, we're urging everyone to please check out the links below in order to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with all future releases and information. Enjoy!
