Galaxy Shores expands on his mind-bending debut - Interview
Breathtaking from start to finish, Galaxy Shores’ debut EP is finally out and we got the opportunity to sit and speak with the mastermind behind the music. Check out our full interview below!
Josh Herren, who is much better known for his project Galaxy Shores, has just shared a mind bending self-titled EP that we’ve very quickly fallen in love with. Having reviewed his music leading up to this big release, it was a complete honor to get to pick his brain about the in’s and out’s of this perplexing and forward-thinking record. Of course we’re going to recommend heavily that you give it a spin, but definitely don’t miss out on a fantastic conversation either.
Currently based out of Simi Valley, California, Galaxy Shores initially started as a quarantine project back in mid-2020 and has grown into something real and incredibly interesting. Teaching himself Ableton and continuing on his path to becoming a proficient multi-instrumentalist could not have been easy, but ultimately the final product delivered in massive ways. As you’ll be able to tell almost immediately, we’ve got nothing but positives to say here about the whole thing. Prepare yourselves for a psychedelic masterpiece that gives and gives the more you listen and focus in on the subtleties.
With more planned for 2022 in the way of new music and an eventual tour, we can’t sincerely make it more clear that now’s the definitive time to hop on the Galaxy Shores bandwagon. As fans of Tame Impala, Pond, King Gizzard, and so many more, he’s delicately taken those styles and completely created something niche for himself. We found that for a moment in time, it’s like the world stopped around us and the music sucked us in. It provided a much needed happiness and break from the real world, which basically is the end game when we listen to music.
Maybe we’re collectively suckers for this genre of music, but we tend to judge it with a closer eye due to our familiarity. With that being said though, our expectations have been beat and we know undoubtedly we’ll be coming back to this album super frequently. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll go ahead and check out those important links below in order to listen, follow along, and stay tuned for everything else on the way. Enjoy!
