fil ricchiardi shines bright on his bedroom pop-inspired single, "1E3miles"

Released on July 31st, 2020, Fil Ricchiardi has put forth his second single titled, “1E3miles”. Read along with us as we break down our thoughts on the track, as well as provide a bit of insight surrounding the artist as well.
Filippo Ricchiardi (stage name, fil ricchiardi) was born in Turin, Italy in January 2001 and now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada), where he studies neuroscience at Dalhousie University. Fil is a 19 year old singer, songwriter, and producer that focuses mainly on indie pop music. He started writing music at the age of 12 with more of a singer-songwriter style and still tries to keep some of those elements into his music (mixing them with more creative and electronic production). The artist works with a label named DDE Records LTD, which is owned by producer Mike Generale and 80s dance singer Dee D Jackson, who helped him as a vocal coach.
1E3miles was written by fil ricchiardi in October 2019, as he was in Canada for University, away from friends and family. The lyrics talk about the struggle of keeping in touch with loved ones when living thousands of miles away from them. Especially about the feeling of being powerless when something goes wrong and not being able to be there for them. In a way, the artist regrets not getting closer to some people when he still could, because “now it’s hard to be a thousand miles away”.
Now that we’ve familiarized ourselves a bit with the work of Fil, let’s dig into our thoughts on this fantastic track. Right off the bat, the acoustics and backing beat drew us in. As big fans of the “bedroom indie-pop” genre, we had high expectations going into this review. However, by the end of the 3 and a half minute track, we were absolutely head over heels in love with what we heard! So many fantastic artists in this genre have hit it big with singles just like this and we fully expect that when the right ears hear “1E3miles”, the result will be the same.
The overall combination of Fil’s soft voice, the high quality production, and chilled out vibes we got from the track were the recipe for a real winner here. Seeing as how this is only the second ever single released, we’re waiting on pins and needles for the release of an EP or even a full length album (hopefully soon!). It truly is incredible what he’s created in only his bedroom with a small selection of instruments and recording programs. If he can do it, it opens the doors for all creative artists throughout the world to do the same.
If we weren’t fans of Fil Ricchiardi before listening, we absolutely are now. We truly can’t wait to see what else is released throughout his blossoming music career. For now, we’ll keep you all updated.
