Emily Daccarett gets suspenseful on latest track, "Fading Memories"

Off her soon to be released record, Yours Always, “Fading Memories” is an astounding lead single that Emily Daccarett has just released. According to the artist, it’s her inner monologue in which she tries to reason whether or not she wants to turn away from that inner voice inside of her that holds on to fantasy and dreams.
Before we get to the single though, we’re incredibly excited to describe Yours Always, which is set to be a concept album that covers themes surrounding love, loss, rejection, childhood innocence and time. Set in the style of a waltz from a gothic romance novel, Emily’s style on this particular single toes the line of spoken word storytelling and guides the listener to the message through its provocative lyricism.
Music in general has been relying a lot less in general on the spoken word style of songwriting. While it’s a lot more direct, it’s also an extremely useful tool to get your point across in a way that’s about as straightforward as possible. “Fading Memories” has quickly become a memory in our mind that has stayed put because of its originality and forwardness. Instead of having the listener dig deep for connections through words, you’re strictly being told the background amongst a dawning atmosphere of sound.
Through powerful instrumentation and an almost suspenseful jaunt through Emily’s life, “Fading Memories” is one of the more interesting songs that has come across our plate in quite a while. As it appears that the artist hasn’t put out a release since 2020, our hopes are that this is an indicator of what’s to come. Whether it be in more forms of singles or an album, we are really looking forward to the stylistic change that “Fading Memories” has brought. It has played the balancing act between drama in sound and storytelling, but it surely doesn’t doesn’t disappoint in the slightest that Emily’s vocals and delivery happen to be the best part.
From start to finish, we were glued to this. It’s not a forgettable mainstream pop song, rather a living and breathing piece of art that has taken beautiful music to the next level.
